マーケティングに莫大な経費をかけるのではなく、最も重要だと思われるところ、つまり高級素材と生産に予算を配分することを選択しました。
私たちのブーツは、現地で調達された素材を使い、イタリアで完全契約の労働者によってハンドメイドされています。
イタリアでの靴の生産コストは世界で最も高いものの一つですが、靴作り、特にデザートブーツに関しては、イタリア人はユニークな遺産を持っています。そして私たちは、この「スローブーツ」の伝統を支えるために、余分なコストをかける価値があると本当に考えています。
私たちの素材はすべて、責任を持って調達されたものです。私たちは、クロムなどの重金属を必要としない高価な植物タンニンなめし革を使用しています。ブーツの製造に使用される溶剤はすべて水性で、工場労働者を毒殺することはありません。
ステッチにも、工場と同じ地域で生産されたコットンを使用しています。
“スローブーツ”とは？
イタリアの「スローフード」運動をご存じでしょうか。大量生産されたファーストフードよりも、素材や産地を重視する、基本に忠実な運動です。
私たちのブーツも同じように、ゆっくりと、地元で、手作業で、本当の愛情を込めて作られています。
ハットンのブーツはとてもよく作られていて、そのような時代を超えたシンプルな構造のため、今後何年も続くと確信しています。
At Hutton, we refuse to compromise on quality.
We don’t have a huge overhead for marketing, but instead choose to allocate the budget where we think it matters most: on premium materials and production.
Our boots are hand-made in Italy using locally sourced materials, by workers who are on full contracts.
The cost of producing shoes in Italy is one of the highest in the world, but the Italians have a unique heritage when it comes to shoemaking and especially desert boots. And we really think it’s worth the extra cost to support this tradition of ‘slow boots’.
All of our materials are responsibly sourced. We use expensive, vegetable tanned leather that doesn’t require heavy metals, such as chrome, in the process. All the solvents used to make the boots are water-based, and doesn’t poison the factory workers.
Even the stitching on every pair is made from cotton sourced from the same region as our factory.
What Does ‘Slow Boots’ Mean?
You’ve probably heard of the Italian ‘Slow Food’ movement. It’s a back to basics movement which prizes ingredients and provenance over and above mass produced and fast food.
Well, our boots are made the same way – slowly, locally, by hand and with real love.
